In our classes, we slow down from our hectic schedules, allowing the breath to flow through the postures. Create balance by uniting opposites – effort and grace, stability and fluidity, strength and softness. Rather than just exercising, we can begin to connect the breath with body and mind, directing our attention inward.

Specializing in seamlessly flowing sequences of asana Joanne Lowe is a certified yoga instructor with more than 30 years experience in the practice and study of various forms and teaching philosophies of yoga. With an infectious love of asana practice, Joanne’s warm, non-judgmental approach, gentle touch and soothing voice will guide you through a creative, ever-changing, well-balanced series of postures. She encourages participants to move slowly, deepen their breath and practice with self-awareness and self-acceptance.

Hatha yoga is a gentle, yet effective yoga practice that enhances your health and well-being. The simple breathing, stretching and muscle relaxation techniques relieve various symptoms of stress, including tension headaches, fatigue, anxiety, back-pain, depression and insomnia.

Our all-levels Hatha yoga classes, suitable to many, integrate the breath with an extensive variety of postures to increase strength and flexibility, deepen the breath, bringing balance, while calming the mind.

Variations and modifications of the postures via verbal cues and demonstrations are offered in every class including suggestions to meet student’s individual needs, encourage healthy alignment and to find comfort and joy in the practice.

BOOKING

Please pre-register by sending us an email request to info@bigstretchyoga.com at least an hour before the scheduled class and we will confirm your booking. A link to access Zoom will be provided a few hours before class. We will try to accommodate those wishing to join just before class if you are booking at the last minute.

CLASS FEES

Pay as you go or save money by purchasing one of our convenient pre-paid class packages.  Pre-paid yoga classes can be used for our Livestream classes, Hikes or pop-up classes and expire one year after purchase.  If you are out of classes and wish to top up your account, kindly purchase via interac e-transfer to info@bigstretchyoga.com before your booked class.   NO REFUNDS — all sales are final. Prices include HST.

Hatha Yoga — Our signature class
Move and breathe at an easy pace.
Our all-levels Hatha yoga classes, suitable to many, integrate the breath with an extensive variety of postures to increase strength and flexibility, deepen the breath, bringing balance, while calming the mind.

We also offer these favourite classes and sessions from time to time:

Sadhana – Early morning practice — 7 – 8 am
Join us for 5 consecutive early morning livestream yoga classes. The Sadhana experience provides a greater understanding of the routine and the rewards of a daily yoga practice. Salute the Sun each morning with a flowing series of postures and breath work that will refresh and rebalance the inner you, rejuvenate and strengthen the outer you.

Yin Yoga
This is a passive, meditative practice involving long holds where we focus on the fascia and deep connective tissues. Mainly practiced lying down or sitting, it improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them.

Restorative Yoga
Linger peacefully in gentle, well-supported poses and relax while restoring movement and flexibility to your body.

Postures are held for longer periods of time, allowing you to let go of long-held tensions that manifest both physically and mentally. This deeply relaxing and soothing class is suitable for anyone seeking a gentle, meditative class.

Full Moon Yoga
Join us during the Full Moon for a calm and cozy practice of connecting to spirit through breath, gentle flowing movement, and deeply relaxing restorative postures.

Woodsy Hike with Yoga
Enjoy a lovely picturesque hike with some yoga poses interspersed along the way. Enjoy the fresh air, a few laughs, stretching, and feel the healing tonic of nature.
